"Satu Lipponen is a journalist specialised in science, health and health promotion. She has worked at the Cancer Society of Finland since 2000 as managing editor of the Society's magazine, Syöpä-Cancer and from 2008 editor-in-chief of the annual magazine Focus of the Cancer Foundation. From October 2013 she started as special adviser (strategy, international affairs) of the Cancer Society. She studied international politics, journalism and mass communication and economics at the University of Tampere. She is interested in journalism and ethical issues and is a member of several associations in journalism. Lipponen is currently president of the Finnish Association of Science Editors and Journalists, FASEJ. It is a leading organisation of science journalism in Finland.
