Pandemics are global: they affect everyone, everywhere. And we can only defeat them through global action too: through working together to slow and stop transmission, and getting vaccinated when a vaccine is available. But this is only possible when everyone feels informed, and understands what's happening - and how to interpret what they might be hearing on the news, or from friends. This is why science communication is critical when we face global infectious disease crises!
