Malaria Heroes: By the numbers
It’s been exciting to watch an explosion of activity in the last weeks of the 2015 Social Media Awards. With 51 nominees from 19 countries (and one that lives in his “imagination”) from all walks of life, it’s an impressive roster! Almost as impressive is the number of votes our nominees have received: With over 3400 endorsements, it’s clear that defeating malaria is a concern shared by many.
The malaria heroes profiled on this site use social media for sharing the latest advances, networking with others, advocacy, and raising public awareness – all for the cause of malaria control and elimination. But they aren’t “just” fighting malaria online. Our heroes are actively tackling this disease with creative and effective approaches that reflect their diverse backgrounds and skills. There’s still time to add your vote to this amazing group of malaria advocates.
