For the past 5 years, Daniel Parker has been working with Francois Nosten, founder of the Shoklo Malaria Research Unit in Thailand, first on his PhD project and now on a project to eliminate malaria among the Karen people living along the border of Thailand and Myanmar, to try to contain the disease. They are interested in the problem of malaria control when there is frequent migration of infected people from one area to another. They are also working on the increasing problem of artesiminin resistant malaria in the area. Daniel has been blogging about this for years at The Mermaid's Tale blog (ecodevoevo.blogspot.com), writing about the problems of diagnosis, migration and drug resistance from a smart, fresh point of view. His most recent blog post is here: http://ecodevoevo.blogspot.com/2015/05/qc-and-limits-of-detection.html
