Rob Yates has consistently and productively used Twitter to promote advocacy for health system strengthening for universal health coverage. He effectively engages with followers and other UHC advocates on different aspects of health system strengthening that can facilitate progress towards UHC in many countries. Although his focus is on public financing as key to UHC, his witty and bold use of Twitter to share relevant research, articles and news on UHC has engendered productive discourse and subtly influence policy makers and other advocates who read his tweets. I strongly recommend him for this award.

...dedicated promoter of Universal Health Coverage. The one to follow if you want to know all (and even the things you do not want to know) about UHC.

What i appreciate most about Rob is his lack of cynism, even if he obviously knows how the world works. It shows in his many tweets, whether on user fees, UHC etc. He combines advocacy

Rob's Twitter account is one of my three not-so-secret go tos every morning to touch base on the latest on UHC and health systems. His combination of news and comment make for very effective advocacy and consistent messaging around UHC and user fees etc. His recent stint in Indonesia tracking the elections and health let his followers accompany him on the inside track of the politics of UHC. He's got my endorsement!

Rob's passion to move from knowledge to action is untiring. We have sooooo much evidence that proves delivering health care free at the point of access saves lives. It is also clear that taxed based systems are pro-poor in a way that insurance systems are not. Rob has continued to share evidence on this for over 15 years now. Twitter has been an excellent forum for sharing evidence quickly, and Rob is great at it.
