The Scottish Collaboration for Public Health Research and Policy (SCPHRP) was established in 2008 and one of its key objectives is to engage the civil society, policymakers, academics and practitioners in the use of research evidence when making public health decisions. SCPHRP uses social media as part of its wider remit to engage with people around the world, and to encourage dialogue between those with an interest in public health issues – allowing everyone a voice in the conversation. It provides civil society with up-to-date, easily accessible information by providing links to relevant news and (predominantly) open access research journal articles. SCPHRP is particularly interested in issues of the day such as health inequalities, and takes a lifecourse approach.

I really like following SCPHRP on twitter and reading their updates. They so community focused and really in tune with relevant health inequalities issues. Not only that they interact well with their audience and can have a bit of fun with them too which a great thing to do on the so-me scene. They get a vote from me for sure.
